Karolina Babič (DOBA)
Karolina Babič is a president of Association CAAP – Center for alternative and autonomous production in Maribor, Slovenia. She holds a PhD in philosophy. Her work is dedicated to research and development of alternative social and economical practices, so in desk research as in the field work. In the past years she has professionally supported over forty social enterprises (cooperatives and other types) in their start up and development phases and has collaborated with expert organizations in Slovenia and Europe in the field of development of social economy in general, with emphasis on research and development of cooperatives. She is a higher education lecturer for social economy at Doba Faculty in Maribor. Otherwise she is also an active columnist and commentator of contemporary social matters.
